This course is suitable for people who might have to identify and manage emergency situations or manage minor everyday occurrences when looking after pre-puberty children. The Ofsted requirements for Nannies and Au Pairs depend on whether registration is required. If you choose to register, in most cases people working with children including Nannies, Au Pairs, Child minders, Nursery Workers and Childcare Workers still need to complete this 12-hour course.
It also represents the best practice first aid qualification to hold for teaching staff who care for all ages of primary school children. Regulations for the Childcare Register require the childminder or home child carer to have an appropriate first aid qualification. However, it is up to the provider to determine whether these minimum standards are appropriate for the type of care they provide and whether more advanced training or qualification is required. This one-day course is suitable for those who do not need to register, whilst it’s also ideal as annual refresher for any paediatric first aid course.
